Cwmbran Library Exhibition: June 2013

Our latest exhibition took place at Cwmbran Library where all of Torfaen Art Factory members displayed at least one item at the show. There was a wide variety of work being exhibited, from acrylic and oil paintings to polymer clay sculptures and pencil drawings. The exhibition lasted for one month only and we would like to thank the staff at Cwmbran library for letting us show our work and taking good care of our images. Here are some photos of the exhibition:

New Exhibition at The Power Station, Cwmbran. Featuring: Graham Allen and Christine Duggan.

The latest exhibition at The Power Station Cwmbran is displaying the work of two of the longest serving members of Torfaen Art factory, Graham Allen and Christine Duggan. Graham is an acrylic artist who specializes mainly in wildlife. His wonderful blending creates a soft, almost pastel look to his paintings. Combining this method with the use of bold colours, Graham's style is very distinctive. Christine is photographer and digital artist. She enjoys taking images of local scenes in and around Torfaen and the South Wales area. Her style varies dramatically from sculptural scenes of St Brides to digitally manipulated images of Cwmbran Woodlands, replicating a soft charcoal drawing.

How long have you been a member of Torfaen Art Factory?
I have been with the Art Factory for approximately five years.

How would you describe your artwork/style?
My style is photography/Photoshop. I particularly like what I call natural photography and I enjoy manipulating images to bring out the best as well as combining multiple photographs to create montages. I am also very interested in the restoration of old, damaged photographs.

What/who are your main influences and how do you see your work progressing?
My main influence has been Photoshop. I draw inspiration from nature and my surroundings often finding interesting subjects very close to home. It takes an experienced eye to seek out good photographic opportunities as well as new ways of presenting ideas in interesting and creative pictures and I would very much like to continue to develop my Photography and Photoshop skills.
